ABSTRACT: Background: Based on data from Globocan in 2012, the highest cancer incidence in Indonesia is breast cancer. Breast cancer incidence in Indonesia ranked highest suffered by women. There are still many deaths caused by breast cancer. Survival of patients depends on several factors, which are essential to be identified. Methods: This study used a retrospective. Samples in this study are patients with breast cancer that was first diagnosed with breast cancer from January 1, 2009 until December 31, 2009 at the hospital, Yogyakarta. The Kapplan Meier method was used for the data analysis, and finally factorss Reviews those that Showed significant association were entered in a Cox regression models. Calculations were performed in Stata 12.0. Results: 5 years survival rate was 51.07%. In bivariate analysis, there was a relationship between the age of diagnosis, educational, clinical stage, tumor size and tumor location on 5-years survival in patients with breast cancer. For multivariate analysis, age of diagnosis has the most powerful relationships (HR = 3.73; 95% CI = 1.0 to 13.6) on survival (pvalue = 0.046). Conclusion: Survival of breast cancer in women aged less than 50 years lower. Young women with breast cancer tend to have more aggressive breast cancer growth and recurrence risks were great. Efforts are needed for early detection of breast cancer to improve survival in breast cancer patients.
