GREEN HOSPITAL NEW APPROACH IN THE MANAGEMENT OF HOSPITAL CASE STUDY IN GENERAL HOSPITAL CENTER OF FRIENDSHIP AND HOSPITAL CANCER DHARMAIS
ABSTRACT: Eco-Friendly trend has entered the world of hospital. According to the Chaiman of the Committee of Indonesian Hospital Association (PERSI) currently which declared it’s commitmnt to applying the concept of green there is three hospitals, two of which are Persahabatan Hospitals (RSUP Persahabatan) and Dharmais Cancer Hospital (RSKD). The purpose of this study is to identify the elements that are implemented and management of green hospital in Persahabatan Hospital and Dharmais Cancer Hospital. This research is a case study by using research methods qualitative and quantitative approach. The steps being taken was exploratory to the Green Building Council of Indonesia (GBCI) and the secretariat of Indonesian Hospital Association. Then proceed with the exploration phase, that is focused data collection, that is through in-depth interviews to the Hospital Director and Focused Group Discussions (FGD) to the executor green hospital in the hospital, and was also observed from the implementation of green hospital by comparing the application made to the criteria or standard of Greenship version 1.0 made by Green Building Council of Indonesia. Persahabatan Hospital can meet the 11% criteria and Dharmais Cancer Hospital able to meet the 22% criteria of the total required criteria in Greenship. The biggest potential of Persahabatan Hospital in implementing green hospital is located on the availability of green open space which reaches 70% of the total land area owned, while Dharmais Cancer Hospital has advantages in the management of the hospital environment with certification achieved ISO 14001:2004 of Environmental Management.
