ABSTRACT: Cervical cancer is the second cause of death and the second largest case in Indonesian productive-aged women. HPV vaccination can be done as a solution to prevent cervical cancer in young women. Until now, it is estimated that quite a lot of young Indonesian women do not understand about HPV vaccination. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge and perception of Gadjah Mada University students about HPV, cervical cancer, and HPV vaccination; acceptance of HPV vaccination; the relationship between (variables of) respondent characteristics, knowledge, perception, and acceptance of HPV vaccination. The study is a descriptive cross sectional using analytical approach. This research uses accidental sampling by distributing questionnaires to 192 female students at Gadjah Mada University. Data processing was performed using SPSS version 15.0 with descriptive frequency analysis and Crosstabs. Chi Square test was used to analyze the relationship between the study variables. The results showed that the majority of respondents had a good knowledge (64.1%) and positive perception (61.5%) of the HPV, cervical cancer, and HPV vaccination. A total of 91.7% of respondents were willing to make HPV vaccination. There is a significant relationship between the cluster majors and respondents‟ awareness of screening on their knowledge about HPV, cervical cancer, and HPV vaccination; cluster majors, history of cancer, awareness of HPV vaccination, and awareness of screening significantly related to respondents' perception about cervical cancer and HPV vaccination; family income is significantly related to respondents' acceptance of HPV vaccination (P<0.05). There is no significant relationship between knowledge about HPV, cervical cancer, and HPV vaccination (p=0.077) on HPV vaccination acceptance. There is a significant relationship between respondents' perception about cervical cancer and HPV vaccination on HPV vaccination acceptance (p=0,02).
