THERAPEUTIC USE PATTERNS ANALGESICS IN PAIN MANAGEMENT OF HOSPITAL BREAST CANCER PATIENTS IN RS PKU Muhammadiyah YOGYAKARTA PERIOD 2014 - 2015
ABSTRACT: Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women. The characteristics of breast cancer is a lump in the breast that judging is different from the surrounding area, and are usually accompanied by pain. In the case of cancer pain in breast cancer would make a patient feel uncomfortable. Clinically 50% of breast cancer patients experience pain, it can even spread to the back pain, shoulder pain, chest pain. The purpose of this study to determine the pattern of analgesic use based on the intensity of pain and pattern of analgesic usage on surgical premedication against hospitalized breast cancer patients in PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Hospital period 2014-2015. This is non experimental descriptive research, researcher do not provide treatment (control or intervention) on the subject of research. The inclusion criteria of patients is hospitalized breast cancer patients with age about 18 years old and older and with the painful symptoms of breast cancer. The analysis performed in this study is descriptive analysis of analgesics selected pattern based on the intensity of pain and the analgesic profile on premedication surgery patients. The results showed there were 37 patients with 50 cases of incident breast cancer pain. Most moderate pain intensity experienced by patients about 44%, 38% mild pain and 2% severe pain. Location of pain that felt 78% are located in the breast. The most commonly prescribed analgesic ketorolac injection was 94%, tramadol injection 44%, fentanyl injection 24%, dexamethasone injection 24% and morphine injection 22%. The pattern of analgesic therapy based on the intensity of breast cancer pain is the most commonly prescribed dose of 30 mg of ketorolac as much as 54.17% in mild pain intensity, 80% in moderate pain intensity and 100% in severe pain intensity. In premedication dose of 100 mg tramadol the most widely used in the amount of 20.48%.
