TESTS INDEX GREY chest radiography IMAGE BASED SOFTWARE USED IN CASE OF LUNG CANCER MATLAB PRIMER
ABSTRACT: Lung cancer is a type of cancer with the third-highest percentage of new cases in the world, amounting to 23.1% and the highest cause of death from cancer. Postero-Anterior Chest X-ray is one of the initial investigation radiological examination to assess the initial action or other selection procedures must be done. The purpose of this study was to test grey index using Matlab based software to detect the image of primary lung cancer by knowing the grey level. Grey level data retrieval is done by cropping the Region of Interest (ROI) of normal lung tissue (In), a network of primary lung cancer (Ix) and background (I0). The grey index value is calculated by comparing grey level cancerous tissue with grey level of normal tissue. Software calculation results obtained show that the value of normal lung tissue grey level (In) ranges from 63 to 119, the value of primary lung cancer tissue grey level (Ix) ranges from 94 to 182. Thus, the value of primary lung cancers grey index obtained ranges from 1.037 to 1.286. Cut off Point (COP) of cancer grey index on Matlab based software has a 95% accuracy for diagnosing primary lung cancer. The results of this research may be used as one of the consideration factors for determining radiographic image quantitative diagnosis computer-based thus reducing inter-radiologist subjectivity in the determination of primary lung cancer.
