TESTS INDEX GREY chest radiography IMAGE USING MATLAB SOFTWARE IN CASE OF LUNG METASTASIS

ABSTRACT: Lung cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer death in the world, roughly one third of all cancer deaths in men. Metastases tumors in the lung is a tumor that grows as a result of the spread (metastasis) of the primary tumors of other organs. One of the tools used to diagnose lung cancer is Computed Radiography (CR). The purpose of this study is to find an index range of gray lung metastases using Matlab based software previously developed for the diagnosis of bone metastases and test bone metastasis COP value on the software to detect lung metastases image using digital radiography photos. The sample used in this study is the positive x-rays of patients with lung metastases. Gray level data retrieval is done by cropping the Region of Interest (ROI) of normal lung tissue (In), ROI of lung metastases tissue (Ix), and ROI without object (Io). The index value is calculated by comparing the gray level pixel ROI cancerous tissue with gray level pixel ROI patient's normal tissue. The index value of gray obtained classified normal or cancer on the value of the COP bone metastases. Software calculation results obtained gray level value of normal lung tissue (In) ranged from 65 to 95 with the average was 78.31, the value of gray level lung metastases tissue (Ix) ranges from 100 to 145 with the mean is 116.15. So that the range of values of gray indices obtained ranged from 1.00 to 1.30 and it can be concluded that the COP metastais bone can not be used for the detection of pulmonary metastases digital image.
