BEHAVIORAL ACTIVATION TO REDUCE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF DEPRESSION IN WOMEN WITH CERVICAL CANCER

ABSTRACT: Depression could occur in patients with cervical cancer. One of the symptoms of depression that showed in cancer patients was a decreasion in daily activity. It became critical and required development of appropriate models for cervical cancer patients treatment . Psychological treatment was very necessary in addition to medical treatment for improving the quality of life of patients . Basic techniques used in this study was Behavioral Activation focused on improving the expected behavior through structured behavioral activation.This study aimed to reveal the effectivity of BA to reduce deppression level in cercical cancer patient . The method used was a single - case. Participant in this study was one people who have been diagnosed with cervical cancer stage I. The measurement instrument used was a behavioral checklist for patient selfmanagement and BDI (Beck Depression Inventory). Data analyzes was conducted through visual inspection. The result showed that BA could increase the activated behavior and reduce the deppression of subject from moderate level to mild.
